N.E.T. Broadband is a partnership
of Evertek, Inc. and North West REC.
We are dedicated to serving the small towns and rural areas of Northwest Iowa.
N.E.T. Broadband is made up of North West REC and Evertek, Inc., two locally owned and operated companies concerned about the rural areas of Northwest Iowa. It is our goal to provide high speed Internet to these areas that have been passed over
by the major operators.
The technology utilized by N.E.T. Broadband is known as MMDS, which stands for Multichannel Multipoint Distribution Service. It is a proven wireless technology that has been used for more than 30 years. N.E.T.
has exclusive rights to the areas served at the most reliable frequencies authorized by the FCC. This ensures our customers are protected from interference and will not be prone to weather conditions.
The type of equipment utilized by N.E.T. Broadband is known as the NextNet Expedience™ system. It is a NON LINE-OF-SIGHT technology that allows a customer to receive and transmit to the base station without having view of the system.
The CPE (customer premise equipment) is located within the customer's home or business where the best signal is available and can connect to a single or multiple pc setup. In rare circumstances, it may be necessary to utilize an outdoor unit to receive a better signal. This will consist of a small antenna located on the outside of the home or business, with a cable run back to the computer or network.
Most any type of pc or network will work with N.E.T. Broadband's equipment. The computer must be equipped with an Ethernet network interface card (NIC). At the customer's request, N.E.T. will install a card provided by N.E.T. for an additional charge.
